18 Sep Future joins 6LACK in visuals for titular track from ‘East Atlanta Love Letter’ album
6LACK has released the titular track from his sophomore album, East Atlanta Love Letter.
Teaming up with a fellow Atlanta native, 6LACK’s rap-slanted RnB flow meshes well the auto-tuned delivery of Future. The video follows the lives of numerous couples with a dark and dimly-lit atmosphere throughout.
Where as some artists regress on their second studio album, 6LACK’s sophomore effort stands among his impactful debut offering, 6LACK, released almost two years ago in November 2016. East Atlanta Love Letter is a 14-track, self-written project with guest features from J Cole, Offset, Khalid and Future.
The Weeknd called upon 6LACK to join him on the North American leg of his ‘Starboy: Legend of the Fall’ tour last year, as well as holding his first headline tour called ‘FREE 6LACK’, a 27-date showpiece held in America and Australia. He recently announced a 38-date world tour, which will include a London show, having postponed a 16-date European tour, scheduled for February 2018, in order to focus on fatherhood and new music.
FREE 6LACK, his first album, secured a top-40 placement on the Billboard album chart back in 2016. After seeing his stature grow significantly since the release of his first album, East Atlanta Love Letter could be set for a much stronger commercial performance.
Originally from Atlanta, 6LACK made a name for himself in Toronto for delivering lucid, trippy melodies underlined with clarity. A few years back, we saw the RnB artist remix Future’s ‘Perky’s Calling’, spinning his own twist for the making of ‘Ex-Calling’, so a collaboration between the pair felt inevitable.
