With assistance in the form of three cold verses from Krept & Konan and K Trap, DigDat’s remix has helped the original version to ‘AirForce’ charted at #20, marking the first UK drill track to crack the top-20. The track originally entered the top 100 at #93, but accelerated some 73 places after dropping the remix.

To clarify, the remix of the song counts towards the original version, which is why ‘AirForce’ (the original) charted at #20 and not ‘AirForce Remix’.

The original version to ‘AirForce’, released back in August, has over 10m YouTube views. The remix found similar viral success, racking up over one million views in less than a week. It’s likely that those lofty video numbers contributed somewhat to the rise of ‘AirForce’ remix, following the announcement that YouTube views will now count towards chart position. In an era where drill has received heavy criticism, this is an impressive feat. A few months ago, Plugsville wrote a piece suggesting that despite having its critics, the UK drill scene is showing signs of realising its commercial potential, as evidenced by the success of ‘AirForce Remix’.
