Don’t Hate The Playaz: ITV are going to launch a new hip-hop comedy show this October.
The show will be hosted by Rizzle Kicks member Jordan Stephens and two teams, led by Maya Jama and Lady Leshurr, who is set to release her debut album soon. Darren Harriot will feature regularly, joined by new guests each week, who will compete with one another in-front of a live audience. The first episode will be broadcasted at 9pm on Thursday 11 October 2018.
Another fixture on the show will be Amelia Dimoldenberg, host of viral YouTube show Chicken Shop Date and recent guest on The Big Narstie Show, while Kiss FM DJ Shortee Blitz will serve as live DJ on ‘Don’t Hate The Playaz’. You can read Plugsville’s exclusive interview with Amelia, by clicking here.
While the full list of the show’s guests remain unknown, some of the future team members of Don’t Hate The Playaz shared pictures of their dressing rooms, indicating they will feature at some point. Poet, who just released his first shoe collection in tandem with Puma and fellow Vibbar member Yinka shared a snap, as well as The Receipts Podcast, who are fresh off completing a series of guest shows on BBC 1Xtra.
ITV producers labelled the studio as “a secret underground central London venue like you’ve never seen before”. They continued with: “Featuring some of the most exciting names on the UK music scene, the show will have performance rounds, physical challenges and above all loads of great live music. Winners are decided on the night by the studio audience, who will play a huge part in the show.”
