Football Manager 2020 best players – Assembling the best ensemble of talent on FM is the ultimate goal. One way of accumulating elite talent is sourcing unknown wonderkids and nurturing them into world-class stars.
Another option is to go out and sign players for big bucks who are already established. Although, having the highest value doesn’t always equate to being the highest-paid. Thibaut Courtois is the fifth most expensive keeper but earns nearly £100k more than Alisson, who is the highest-valued shot-stopper at £55m. Lionel Messi is only the third-highest valued right-winger.
Most, if not all players on this list of Football Manager 2020 best players are older than 24, with Kylian Mbappe (20) the lone exception. It comes as no surprise that attacking players are played considerably more than the rest, with the top five strikers in the game averaging a salary of £330k/week, some £140k/week more than the top five goalkeepers, whose average salary works out to around £190k/week.
