Damn, Kendrick Lamar cleaned up at the 2018 Grammys

Kendrick Lamar dominated the rap awards at the 2018 Grammys, taking home four in total.

The TDE rapper won the gong for Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song (Humble), Best Rap/Sung Performance (Loyalty feat. Rihanna) and Best Rap Performance (Humble), although, he lost out to Bruno Mars twice in the running for Album and Record of the Year.

DAMN beat Culture and 4:44 to be crowned the best rap album of the past year, whilst the singles from that project also proved fruitful, as ‘Humble’ saw off competition from ‘Bodak Yellow’ and ‘The Story of OJ’.

SZA, despite her five nominations, wasn’t able to join label-mate Kendrick in taking home silverware as Bruno Mars also won awards for Best R&B Performance, Best R&B Song, Best R&B Album and Best Engineered Album, with Alessia Cara winning Best New Artist.

Childish Gambino’s smash ‘Redbone’ did take home the gong for Best Traditional R&B Performance and Ed Sheeran scooped two awards for Best Pop Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album.
