23 May Rihanna and Lupita Nyong’o meme being made into Netflix movie
A meme of Rihanna and Lupita Nyong’o sitting side by side at the Miu Miu fashion show in 2014 went viral recently and is now being made into a film on Netflix, which they will both feature in.
Entertainment Weekly report that Netflix won the right to the film following a bidding war at the Cannes Film Festival for an idea which begun as a viral tweet from Twitter user @1800SADGAL:
Rihanna looks like she scams rich white men and lupita is the computer smart best friend that helps plan the scans https://t.co/PhWs1xd3nj

That viral piece of satire prompted responses from both Rihanna and Lupita Nyong’o:

Fans also called for the film to be directed by Ava DuVernay, who duly accepted, tweeting her excitement for the project:

The meme-turned-fan-fiction movie will reportedly be available to watch on the account of the bill-payer who kindly told you their password your Netflix account in 2018.
