Wiley Dizzee Rascal and Grime’s Competitiveness

The fourth episode of #PlugTalk podcast explores Wiley’s relationship with Dizzee Rascal and Skepta, as well as grime’s competitiveness.

Hosted by Ajay Rose and producer and journalist, Naye Fshr, the latest instalment of #PlugTalk looks at Wiley’s recent three-minute rant, which took aim at Dizzee Rascal and Skepta.

The grime pioneer wasn’t happy with Skeppy’s decision to feature on ‘Money Right’, from the Boy In Da Corner MC’s latest EP, Don’t Gas Me. In this episode of #PlugTalk, we explore the history of Wiley Dizzee Rascal and how two grime icons have failed to see eye-to-eye for over 15 years.

The question of whether either of Dizzee or Skepta will reply to Wiley was also put forward, with a closer look at grime’s competitive roots and the lost sense of competition in the UK. The end of the podcast looks at if artists can be blamed for placing profitability in-front of wanting to be the best at their craft.

The outburst saw him question why the Boy Better Know star joined forces with one of Wiley’s long-standing rivals, Dizzee Rascal. To watch the outburst in its entirety, click here.
